This is one of my favourite commissions, a design requested by

for part of a pangolin costume, and I really recommend a trip through her tumblr to meet all sorts of wonderful characters and all kinds of beautiful art!

In response to questions: if you'd like to learn how to make stuff like this check out the Scale Mail Tutorial Page for a free tutorial on a super simple to add scales and any feedback you can give to improve it is massively appreciated

there's even a pattern for sale now as well as the free tutorial!

I personally really like this sandy yarn I got in for it, and using the new style bronze scales were great to use since I've been unable to get hold of any bronze scales for ages! Due to the nature of variegated yarn the colour of the yarn bit up the wrists will vary between pairs, and doesn't even match within the pair, but they look more natural that way

You have over 10,000 views now, and you deserve every single one. Now I admit that I have absolutely no idea what 'pangolin' is, but this piece attracts me anyway, and here's why:
1. Scale-work. I fall for it every time.
2. Knitting! I'm a knitter too!
3. Natural colors. While outrageous, brilliant colors are nice, the bronze is so much more practical and pretty in it's own way.
4. It's beautiful.

I Commissioned these gloves for my LARP character who is a pangolin woman. These gloves are amazing and have held up through rigorous combat and terrible weather! Thank you for being so flexible with the design and I think they portray the arms of my character perfectly! A+
