If you'd like to learn how to make something like this check out the Scale Mail Tutorial Page and any feedback you can give to improve it is massively appreciated :D there's even a pattern for sale now as well as the free tutorial!

From devouring the deepest night sky the darkness dragon grows scales of the pure black and hides in the shadows. But now and then he sheds his skin, and hey presto, you have a pair of fabulous gloves! (just kidding, they're plain old aluminium scales, but if the darkness dragon did shed his skin near me I'd make some properly fabulous gloves)
No dragons were harmed in the making of these gauntlets! They're artificially imitated by knitting black scales onto a soft yarn base for maximum stretchy-comfyness with your uber awesome dragon look. I'd like to make some extra long, fully scaled all the way round (minus palms) gloves in all black some day I really love how they look :)

Want a custom made pair of your own design? Custom scale orders can be taken through CraftyMutt's Etsy through purchasing one of the standard custom orders or sending a message about something even more special like having scales all round the wrist!
You can alternatively order your own basic custom pair and find out even more information at CraftyMutt's Scale Mail Page where you'll see links to the information I need to make your own unique personally designed gauntlets and pouches :)
You can also see CraftyMutt on Facebook for more pictures, updates on what I'm doing and general crafty stuff!

I think this is my favorite color combination in your gallery. The black looks so mysterious and sleek.

I can imagine a full body one piece scale mail suit would look awesome for a human-dragon cosplay.

Random question~
have you tried using the technique on the fingers of gloves?
(i wonder if it would look cool on a sweater...)

Well I should probably mention to you that some time in the next two weeks I'm starting a competition/prize draw or something to win a free pair, which you might be interested in entering if you're after!:D
It'll be on the facebook page when it happens!

Awesome! I will enter, because Wales is cold (obviously) those gloves must be very useful to you. If I don't win I think I'll buy a pair anyway.

Great job; you got any like that that go up the fingers a little, maybe to the first knuckle?

It's easy to move the thumb so that more of the glove goes over the knuckles, which could be done on gloves the same size and therefore price, or to keep it the same length along the arm too additional rows could be done but that would need a new price calculating.
It's a very flexible pattern, and I love to adapt it to all the different requests I get!
