So, here we have another special critter. What happens when you knit dragons and you knit scale gloves? Somebody asks you if you can knit them a scaled dragon. I actually love how he came out - there will be more images of him posted but for now this is the best single image.
His wings are fully scaled on the back, and supported by a pipe cleaner in a felt channel
His claws are individually embroidered onto his arms and legs
His body is fully scaled, with blue scales on the back and silver on the front; his neck and tail have scales on the back only
His horns are entirely yarn, knitted and then made to keep their shape
He has blue eyes, loves playing board games and card games, and is on his way to France to enjoy the rest of his life
PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR ONE OF THESE RIGHT NOW ><
I can and will be making some more dragons like this in the future, but it's so complex I can't as standard offer this exact dragon for regular order. I didn't even write down the pattern properly, every dragon will be one of a kind, with his own slight difference in shape and personality. They will be available as and when - CraftyMutt's Facebook
is the best place to get up to date information on if I might consider offering a dragon commission!
I will have the standard scaly information shabang here, but it's less relevant because he's not a pair of gloves
(NOTE - the free tutorial will not guarantee that you can make a dragon like this any time soon - HE TOOK 6 MONTHS and I even know exactly what I'm doing)
If you'd like to learn how to make something like this check out the Scale Mail Tutorial Page
and any feedback you can give to improve it is massively appreciated
there's even a pattern for sale now as well as the free tutorial!
Want a custom made pair of your own design? Custom scale orders can be taken through CraftyMutt's Etsy
through purchasing one of the standard custom orders or sending a message about something even more special like having scales all round the wrist!
You can alternatively order your own basic custom pair and find out even more information at CraftyMutt's Scale Mail Page
where you'll see links to the information I need to make your own unique personally designed gauntlets and pouches
Commissions may not always be running, but I can design your gloves almost any time and put them on reserve for my next knitting spree!
